Elsewhere in India is an internationally-celebrated audiovisual performance by Indian electronica pioneers Murthovic and Thiruda. This trailblazing performance explores cultural heritage, digital technology, and speculative futures through film, interactive experiences, video games, and sculpture.

The project is a collaboration between Indian electronica pioneers Murthovic (music producer / DJ) and Thiruda (visual artist / VJ). Seeded by British Council’s India/UK Season of Culture 2022-23, the project is co-produced by UK based transmedia producers Crossover Labs. Elsewhere pioneers Indofuturism in world building thru next-gen characters and electro-classical dance music, raising questions about the future of society and culture.

Artist biographies
Artists Murthovic and Thiruda lead Elsewhere in India, a collaborative electronica and transmedia project uniting artists, technologists, and cultural preservationists. Their multidisciplinary team merges expertise in digital art, traditional Indian performing arts, new media, and cultural studies. Using tools like game engines, motion capture, and AI, they craft vivid realms where cultural legacy meets futuristic scenarios.

Their mission is to reimagine cultural narratives bridging India's rich past with speculative futures. Their work has been showcased internationally, including at London Film Festival, Barbican, CPH:DOX, OZ Asia Festival, 4A Centre for Asian Contemporary Art, ACMI and Adelaide Fringe.

Murthovic is an electronic music composer, DJ, and sound designer from Hyderabad with two decades of experience in the electronic music field. Thiruda is a media artist, creative director, and curator known for creating immersive experiences through gaming engines for electronic music and shaping the Indian live visuals and electronica scene.
