...and - pop! - out of the egg came a tiny and very hungry caterpillar.

Created by Jonathan Rockefeller, the production features a menagerie of over 75 magical puppets, including the star of the show – The Very Hungry Caterpillar – and an Australian cast who bring these beloved books to life on stage.

Alongside The Very Hungry Caterpillar, the show features three other Eric Carle stories, including Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?

The team behind the Australian tours of The Gruffalo, Spot, and The 13, 26, 52, 78 & 91-Storey Treehouses will excite, educate and entertain the little ones, while those of us who grew up with these books can sit back and relive one of the most popular children's books ever written.

Saturday's 1.30 pm session is a Relaxed Performance. Check out our Theatre Access Key for more information.

Relaxed Performance

Relaxed Performances

A relaxed performance is a performance accessible for a range of audience members including autistic audiences, and audience members with sensory or communication conditions, or learning disabilities.

Light and sound intensity levels are reduced to avoid risk of overwhelm. Doors remain open, and the space is judgement-free. Audience members are free to move around, make noise, and react/self sooth as they please. They may also take advantage of the designated quiet space and pre-show resources such as a Visual Story to support the visit.

Check out our social story for The Very Hungry Caterpillar here.
