Immerse yourself in the vibrant tapestry of Armenian heritage with Azad Gharibian Dance (AGD), a living tribute to the enduring legacy of choreographer Azad Gharibian.
Azad's relentless exploration of Armenian culture, traversing through villages, infused his choreographies with a profound sense of tradition and innovation.
Drawing from the heart of his people, Azad crafted dances like 'Ilikner,' echoing the rhythmic spinning of thread, and 'Qochari,' a testament to the resilience of Armenia's mountains.
'Krounk,' a graceful homage to the majestic crane, reflects Azad's deep-rooted connection to Armenian folklore.
Though Azad's physical presence may have departed in 1988, his spirit lives on through devoted students like Hermine, who continue to honour his iconic choreographies worldwide.
Inspired by her Armenian heritage, Hermine infuses her choreographies with deeply moving narratives, exemplified in pieces like 'Artsakh,' which reflects the turmoil of recent conflict, and 'Avarayr,' honouring what was considered the first battle in defence of the Christian faith.
Join us for an unforgettable evening of dance and celebration as AGD marks three decades of preserving and promoting the ancient art of Armenian dance, uniting hearts and spirits in a celebration of culture and unity.
