As part of Pride month we bring you the first animated feature film by Emma Hough Hobbs and Leela Varghese, Lesbian Space Princess!
First time Introverted space princess Saira is devastated when she is unexpectedly dumped by her girlfriend Kiki for being needy. Deep in the depths of despair, Saira is thrown a lifeline when Kiki abruptly calls for help. Kiki has been kidnapped by forgotten incels known as the Straight White Maliens. Panicked and with just 24 hours on the clock, Saira sets out to save her ex in the hopes of winning her back.

Winner of Best Animated Feature at the 2026 Film Critics Circle of Australia, winner of the Teddy Awards and Panorama Audience Award at the 2025 Berline International Film Festival, winner of the GIP Audience Award at the 2025 Sydney Film Festival and recently nominated for the Best Film at the 2026 Annecy International Animation Film Festival, among other accolades.
Emma Hough Hobbs is an Adelaide-based queer filmmaker, animator, and award-winning production designer known for creating queer-focused content, including the 2025 Berlinale-selected film Lesbian Space Princess. A Flinders University graduate, she works across animation and props, with credits including Talk to Me and Gold.
