Location
Australia’s most prestigious art award, the Archibald Prize has been sparking conversation and stirring debate for more than a century. But what does it take for its prized artists to capture their muse? And just how easy is it for their subject to surrender to the creative process?
Hear from two pairs of painters and their subjects from the Archibald Prize 2022 – eight-time Archibald Prize finalist James Powditch and journalist Laura Tingle, and six-time finalist Kim Leutwyler and drag performer Shane Jenek, best known under the stage name Courtney Act – as they discuss the powerful connection between painter and painted, with Erik Jensen.
Archibald Prize 2022 is an Art Gallery of New South Wales touring exhibition. Presenting Partner ANZ.
Presented as part of Melbourne Writers Festival 2022.
