Coming to Bunjil Place for the first time in 2026, join us for National Theatre Live - the best of British theatre on a big screen near you.

Olivier Award-winner Hiran Abeysekera (Life of Pi) is Hamlet in this fearless, contemporary take on Shakespeare’s famous tragedy.

Trapped between duty and doubt, surrounded by power and privilege, young Prince Hamlet dares to ask the ultimate question – you know the one.

National Theatre Deputy Artistic Director, Robert Hastie (Standing at the Sky’s Edge, Operation Mincemeat) directs this sharp, stylish and darkly funny reimagining.

National Theatre Live film unmissable theatre live from Britain’s most exciting stages and screen it around the globe - seen by over 13 million people worldwide and counting.

They film each play in front of a live theatre audience but optimise everything for the big screen. They capture the magic of every moment on stage, letting you get closer, delve deeper and take in the spectacle.
