Enjoy a deep exploration into the history and culture of Sri Lanka residing around a significant mountain in Central Sri Lanka. This mountain is said to be a place of significance to all religions, each believing that their higher power has visited the peak of the mountain in the past.

Saman Giri Varuna is a cultural ballet that narrates the kingdoms that ruled this mountain and its folklore, to an audience travelling through time alongside the dancers. As the audience reaches the present day, they get to partake in the rituals associated with hiking to the peak of the mountain in time for the sunrise.

It is said that the sun bows to this sacred mountain every morning as it rises, a sign of respect to all the deities, kingdoms and higher beings that have marked this place and today, flocks of people, start their pilgrimage in the middle of the night in hopes of witnessing this spectacle for themselves.

Expressed through the variety of traditional Sri Lankan dance styles, the audience will be captivated by the rich history associated with this landmark and be taken into a completely different world.
