Meet Your Emcee
Cecilia Nguyen is the director of AO Crew and has been with the group since they first formed in 2013. She is an active member of the Melbourne K-pop community, teaching dance workshops around Melbourne CBD, performing with AO Crew, organising community events, and emceeing at K-pop events.
Cecilia has been fortunate enough to emcee at the K-pop World Festival in Melbourne for the past 3 years, 02 Studio’s KComp for 2 consecutive years, and has been the emcee aficionado for AO Crew’s annual K-NEXT event since 2021.
Fun fact: Cecilia used to be mortified by public speaking, but when K-pop group KARD came to Melbourne 5 years ago for their concert, she took an opportunity to interview them and found that it could be fun instead of daunting. She has since been working on her public speaking skills through exposure and opportunities on stage.
Cecilia always works with the intention of bringing people together and hopes she can be someone who encourages younger fans to have fun and enjoy their love of K-pop.
A long-time K-pop enthusiast dating back to 2008, DJ 1808 started his career in EDM and mainstream and is now solely dedicated to K-pop. With the emergence and success of the first, second, third, fourth, and fifth generations of K-pop music, its popularity has allowed 1808 to give back to the K-pop fan community. He has taken the stage at events including iheartkpop, unofficial concerts, after parties, and K-pop nights at Brisbane clubs.
A few years ago, pre-pandemic, burnt out from a gruelling corporate job, 1808 moved to Korea for a year-long adventure to accomplish a monumental bucket list goal to see his K-pop idols live in concert. Having absorbed the fervour and thrilling energy of concertgoers, 1808 has since dedicated himself to bringing that same passion and spirit to fellow K-pop enthusiasts at events.

Come down and join NV Studio in their workshop as they carry out their mission to bring dance into a new era.

AO Crew is a co-ed K-pop cover dance group that formed in early 2013 through their interest and passion for K-pop. Their members have dance experience in different styles and backgrounds and as a collective, have performed and shared numerous videos through their YouTube channel.
For the past 3 years, AO Crew has held and hosted their annual event, K-NEXT where they aim to put a spotlight on Melbourne K-pop fans to showcase their dancing and singing talents. When and where they can, AO Crew try to organise large collaborative dance projects that include people outside of their team. Their most recent collaboration featured 35 dancers from different cover groups in Melbourne, dancing to New Jeans – Super Shy.
