Textiles waste is a huge issue – there is enough clothing in the world to clothe the next 6 generations, and sending our excess unwanted textiles overseas is creating huge environmental problems. So what are some solutions?

Join us for a day out as we explore options for reducing textile waste:

  • Upparel, who recycle textiles at their facility in Cranbourne West
  • The Creative Community Space and the Fabric Re-Store – a social enterprise rescuing unwanted fabric for re-sale
  • Reverse Art Truck – rescuing all manner of textiles for use in homes, schools and galleries

Included in the program is a guided tour of The Offbeat Sari at Bunjil Place Gallery, showcasing recycled materials, and re-use and upcycling techniques.

Lunch provided.

Accessibility: This workshop involves walking on uneven surfaces, standing and steps onto the bus.
