Join textile artist and traditional Indian textiles researcher Manjari Singh for an introductory talk on the artisans who weave saris and the techniques involved. 

During this talk, go on a journey to learn the different textile specialties of regions across India, their history, and how artisans are evolving their practice for today. 

Enjoy weaving demonstrations that highlight the different textiles approaches, and the opportunity to handle sample fabrics and saris.

Accessibility: This is a free, seated program. There are some steps to access the seating bank. Some level-entry seating is also available.

 

About Manjari Singh

Manjari Singh is a trained fashion designer with expertise in traditional Indian embroidery techniques. Singh has worked closely with textile artisans in India, learning and researching ancient textile techniques and traditions. Singh has shared her experience and passion for textile arts through her workshops, where she has taught embroidery skills and slow stitching techniques since 2018.
