Bunjil Place presents.. COLLAGE CREATIONS!

Collage Creations is an art workshop for people aged 13 – 18 years, focusing on the medium of collage. Participants will be taken through a detailed introduction to the art form and will receive a history of the medium.

There will be several examples of works from past and contemporary examples to inspire participants and help them understand the endless possibilities of paper collage.

The workshop will be primarily practical, featuring several activities. Firstly, each participant will be guided through creative warm-ups to activate the mind and to help explore and understand collage elements, principles and considerations.

The second half of the workshop will focus on the planning and of their final collage. Then, participants will receive a detailed step-by-step guide on how to turn their plan into a reality.

All materials and snacks will be provided. This workshop is suitable for people of all abilities and backgrounds in art-making. Strictly for ages 13 – 18 years.

About your teaching artist

Nicky Tsekouras is an emerging, queer and multidisciplinary artist born in Naarm working as a visual artist and workshop facilitator for over six years. Their practise has a multimedia approach, utilising collage, drawing and experimental painting often all at once.

Their practice is concerned with a deep desire for personal identity dissection, discussion and expression which is often conveyed through paper materials. Lately, they have been steering away from conventional art-making practices to make way for a practise which prioritises experimentation, sustainable materials and community engagement.
