Join us for the premiere of a new short film created by Casey’s passionate Youth Climate Action Committee (YCAC) — a powerful showcase of young voices taking action for our planet.
Following the short film, stay for a screening of Damon Gameau’s Future Council — an inspiring look at how communities can imagine and build a better, more sustainable future together.
Youth Climate Action Committee
YCAC is a program for people aged 15 to 25 with a passion for addressing climate change and protecting our natural environment. The committee has 12 members that have run workshops for primary school students, worked with the Monash Climate Change Communications Research Hub, organised a tree planting event, create art from waste and now have written and starred in a short documentary.
Small Actions, Collective Impact (2025)
Small Actions, Collective Impact focuses on the small actions young people can make to help to reduce their impact on climate change. It covers three key areas, public transport, fast fashion and attending community events.
Future Council (2024)
Millions of children around the world are frustrated by the dire lack of action to protect the planet and their future. Until now, their only avenue to express these concerns has been protesting on the streets.
Director Damon Gameau (2040, That Sugar Film) takes eight children on an epic adventure across Europe in a school bus powered by biofuel. Their mission is to better understand the planet’s predicament, explore solutions and, most importantly, take the conversation from the streets, into the boardrooms of some of the world’s largest polluters and most influential companies.
Their bold, hopeful journey leads to the creation of a Future Council: young changemakers working with big business to shape a better world.
