More to Love about the Library

It is tipped to be one of the most visited features at the precinct, debunking out-dated library stereotypes and bringing to life an interactive, social and accessible space for everyone to use and enjoy.

Library staff are preparing for the transition to the new venue, which will be home to an updated collection of more than 50,000 books and audio visual materials.

The new space will see the library host a range of exciting programs for both adults and children, including talks on a range of topics, weekly story times, kids clubs and special events.

Undertaking such a transformation is no mean feat and as a result there will be some adjustments to the services during October.

Key information to note

  • The current Narre Warren library will remain open until two weeks before the Bunjil Place library opens.
  • During the closure period, a limited library service will be available for one week followed by a complete shut down for the next week to allow for the move of the library collections.
  • All other Casey Cardinia Libraries will be open as usual during that fortnight so customers will still have access to those libraries and their services. Nearby libraries are located in Endeavour Hills, Doveton, Hampton Park and Cranbourne.
  • The much-loved existing Narre Warren branch library will be farewelled with a community event in September, ahead of the move to Bunjil Place.
