Bunjil Place Outdoor Screen
1 - 31 July
10.00 am – 11.30 pm, 1.30 pm – 3.00 pm & 5.00 pm – 6.00 pm
Step into Sky of Flowers, an Augmented Reality experience on the Bunjil Place Outdoor Screen. See yourself reflected on the screen with flowers drifting all around you, floating from one field to another.
As you move through the virtual space, plants bloom from the ground, petals swirl in the air, and a breathtaking sky of flowers unfolds above. Each interaction shapes the ever-evolving landscape, making every moment unique.
Bloom
Experience One
Bloom is an interactive digital installation that transforms visitor movement into a living, evolving garden. Using real-time camera tracking, participants see themselves projected onto a large screen as they walk through the installation space. With each step, virtual plants begin to sprout and grow from the concrete environment around them.
Interaction & Evolution:
• As individuals move through the space, their paths trigger the emergence of greenery—grass, vines, and small plants begin to bloom.
• When multiple visitors occupy the same space or overlap paths, the flora responds by growing denser and more vibrant, culminating in full blooms of flowers.
• The installation evolves over time, visually reflecting the collective presence and movement of its audience.
Bloom explores the idea of human presence as a catalyst for life and regeneration. It turns a typically cold, concrete environment into a lush, responsive ecosystem—celebrating community, growth, and the impact we have on shared spaces.
Petal Dance
Experience Two
Petal Dance transports visitors into an immersive aerial dreamscape where countless petals, leaves, and flowers float gently through the sky. This experience is shaped by prior visitor interactions—specifically from Bloom—making each instance of Petal Dance a unique and ever-changing spectacle. The flora that fills the air is a living memory of the people who have passed through the installation.
Interaction & Immersion:
• The space is filled with drifting natural elements that move in layered parallax, creating an illusion of depth and movement.
• Visitors are represented within the environment as abstract shapes or luminous silhouettes, allowing them to become part of the poetic flow without being literal or intrusive.
• As participants move, the petals and flowers swirl around them, reacting subtly to gestures, presence, and proximity—giving a sense that the environment is alive and responsive.
Petal Dance builds on the regenerative themes of Bloom, but shifts the focus from the ground to the skies. It explores ideas of impermanence, memory, and collective imprint—how each visitor leaves a trace, no matter how soft or fleeting. The experience invites reflection, presence, and a feeling of connection to those who came before.
Blending nature, movement, and technology, Sky of Flowers is an experience unlike anything else.
