Wear It Purple Day at Bunjil Place is a vibrant celebration of LGBTQIA+ young people aged 15 – 25, all about pride, visibility, and community.
It’s a day to feel seen, supported, and empowered. This event creates a space where you can be unapologetically yourself, connect with others, and celebrate the incredible diversity of queer identities.

Come along and dive into an evening full of fun, creativity, and connection. Get hands-on with a beading workshop, express yourself in a zine-making session, or challenge your friends to a round of Queer Jenga or Uno. The energy will be high, the vibes welcoming, and the laughs guaranteed.
We’ll also be treated to a fabulous live performance by the iconic Freddie Merkin, bringing joy and sparkle to the stage. To wind things down, grab a snack and settle in for a heartwarming screening of Ponyo— the beautiful Studio Ghibli anime film by Hayao Miyazaki, that’s perfect to end the evening on.
Whether you’re here to make art, play games, meet new people, or just soak it all in, Wear It Purple Day is your space to feel proud, feel safe, and feel celebrated!
