Emergent 2026
Applications open 7 September 2026.
Each year, Emergent presents the next wave of artists, designers, photographers, film makers and performing artists from the City of Casey and southeast region. The outstanding talent of VCE unit 3 and 4 and second year VET Certificate 2 students is showcased in a professional setting at Bunjil Place through an exhibition, performance and film screening.
- Emergent 2026: Graduate Exhibition will be held in Bunjil Place Studio in February 2026. The exhibition will feature work by art, design and media students.
- Emergent 2026: Graduate Short Film and Animation Screening will be held in Bunjil Place Plaza in February 2026. The film screening will feature films by media students.
- Emergent 2026: Graduate Performance will be held in Bunjil Place Theatre in February 2026. The showcase will feature performances by music, dance and drama students.
Emergent 2026 accepts applications from students undertaking VCE scored and unscored, VET, VCEVM and International Baccalaureate. See below for eligible subject areas.
How to apply
Entry to Emergent 2026 is FREE and open to students who live, study or work in the City of Casey, or have a significant connection to the City of Casey (i.e. participation in a sporting team, dance school, family etc.)
Local students studying the subjects listed below in 2026 are encouraged to submit their end of year artworks/projects/performances for consideration in the Emergent 2026 season, presented at Bunjil Place in February 2027.
