Wednesday Night Workshop: Botanical Embroidery

Presented with Casey Cardinia Library Corporation, during this introduction to botanical embroidery you will learn the fundamental stitches used in most floral designs. Over two sessions, we will cover; stem stitch, lazy daisy, fanning stitch, french knots, chevron leaf stitch and more. In the comfort of your own home, you will learn decorative skills and create some beautiful flowers with artists Aoife and Aaron Billings. As an extra special treat, all participants will receive a recipe to make a drink inspired by the artists to enjoy during the workshop.

The following materials will be delivered to your nominated address, kindly note participants are required to supply their own scissors:

- embroidery floss in assorted colours

- embroidery needles

- fabrics

- embroidery hoop

 

This workshop runs over two sessions. The ticket price includes materials for both sessions. Please note, this is an adults-only workshop & is available to Victoria-based residents only.

About your teaching artists: 

Aoife and Aaron Billings have been teaching embroidery for over 10 years. They have taught at Signal Arts, Fed Square, ACCA and previously at Bunjil Place (and they are excited to be back). They are co-creators of Pink Ember studio, a queer focused art space/ studio in Coburg and are both working artists.
