All applicants must submit three preferred date options to help us accommodate as many requests as possible.

Please include all venues required (Theatre, Studio, Function Centre) bump in/out times, number of performances and performance start/finish times.

Back of House (BOH) Access
BOH access is limited. Please provide detailed and accurate information to assist us in assessing your production and event requirements. Any events involving more than 120 people backstage (performers, staff and helpers included) will need to hire the Studio as an overflow space.

Booking Basics
•    Minimum booking: 5 hours
•    Additional time will be charged at the applicable rate, this includes time in venue used for lighting plot, flys set up, etc.
•    Please allow for a 10% budget contingency, as fees are reviewed annually by Council.

Planning Tips
Pre and Post Event Setup. Please also allow at least:
•    30 minutes prior to your arrival for Bunjil Place Production Staff to setup
•    30 minutes after your departure for Bunjil Place Production Staff to pack-down and reset the venue

Stage & Technical Setup
Events requiring stage risers, draping, or orchestra pit adjustments may require additional uninterrupted setup time and may incur additional charges.

Audience Access
Auditorium doors open 30 minutes prior to the advertised start time to allow FOH staff to seat audience.

Staff Breaks
Staff are entitled to a 30-minute break every 5 hours, usually scheduled prior to audience arrival.

Staffing Limits
To maintain workplace safety and prevent fatigue:
•    Maximum staff working hours: 12 hours per person, per day (excluding breaks)
•    Maximum length of day: 14 hours (from first crew call to final sign-off)
•    Any bookings exceeding 12 hours will require a split shift

Multiple Shows
If you are planning multiple shows in one day:
•    A minimum of 1.5 hours between shows is required
•    This allows time for staff breaks, cleaning, and auditorium reset

Intervals
•    Schedule at least 20 minutes per interval
•    For longer events, consider including a second interval or extending the break duration

Closing Note
Thank you for your interest in presenting your event at Bunjil Place. We value working with our community and schools to bring events to life and hope to welcome you in 2027.
