In 2026, Wednesday Night Workshops explore playful art making, opening up to experimentation and enjoying the act of creating.
This month’s workshop invites you to create a unique collaged artwork incorporating moving elements, using vinyls and CDs as the artwork surface.
The workshop will begin with selecting the surface of your artwork – vinyl or CDs - then, using collage materials, found images and cardboard, layer elements to create a collaged work of art. You will also have the opportunity to try Gelli Plate printing (a method of mono printing) to add pattern and texture to your collage. Finally, incorporate movement into your artwork through layered, spinning elements.
Continue with the physical media theme and create a collage that honours and celebrates your love of music or go in a completely different direction – it is up to you! As always, teaching artist Yaz Gaté will be on hand to provide tips and guidance throughout the workshop.
Enjoy two hours of time to unwind and participate in a hands-on, art-making workshop. Accompanied by snacks, drinks and like-minded folks, this is your invitation to pause your everyday routine and mindfully cut and paste your way through your Wednesday night.
All materials provided. No experience necessary.
Enjoy snacks upon arrival
Who is Wednesday Night Workshop for?
Folks aged 18+ who enjoy being a bit creative and want to meet like-minded people. No previous art experience is required for these workshops, just a willingness to try something new!
