Bunjil Place welcomes GRID Series South East 2025
Four incredible young artists have officially kicked off their creative journey as part of the 2025 GRID Series South East Melbourne Artist Development Program – and we’re here for it!
Artists, mentors, music lovers, and proud supporters gathered at Bunjil Place in August to celebrate what’s ahead; six months of mentoring, music-making, and magic.
The GRID Series is a free, six-month development program designed to support emerging musicians from Melbourne’s outer suburbs. It provides access to:
- Professional studio sessions
- One-on-one mentoring with top industry pros
- Artist documentary films
- Live performance opportunities.
The program is all about breaking down barriers and creating real opportunities for talented artists to thrive in the Australian music industry.
Artists will work closely with some of Australia’s most respected producers and mentors including Alice Ivy, Joelistics, UNO Stereo, and Sensible J. Their fully produced tracks and short artist films will be launched at a major showcase event at Bunjil Place next year.
This year’s program is delivered in partnership with the City of Casey, Creative Australia, Victorian Music Development Office, Royal Botanic Gardens Cranbourne, and Bunjil Place.
It’s part of the City of Casey’s commitment to making arts and creativity accessible, inclusive, and central to community life.
These four young legends were selected from a highly competitive pool of 47 applicants. They’re ready to bring their unique stories and sounds to the spotlight:
Meet Kiid Koda
An expressive MC with Mauritian roots, Kiid Koda flows to his own rhythm – melodic, raw, and deeply grounded. His music is shaped in stillness, and guided by something greater.
Shout out to Martha
A self-taught vocalist blending rap, R&B, Afro, and neo-soul, Martha’s music is full of purpose. Drawing strength from her South Sudanese upbringing, she’s all about authenticity, empowerment, and transforming through sound.
Say hi to Jordz
DJ, producer, vocalist, and all-round go-getter, Jordz is lighting up the melodic/progressive house and indie-dance scene. She’s passionate about bringing people together and creating joy through music.
Check out ACP
A freestyle rapper and powerful lyricist with Fijian Indian roots, ACP has been performing for over a decade. Known for pushing boundaries and building community, he’s a fierce voice for the South-East.
GRID Series has already helped launch the careers of dozens of artists across the country, amplifying the voices of outer-suburban musicians.
So, what’s next? Each artist will:
- Record a fully produced track
- Be paired with a top Australian producer
- Film their own artist documentary
- Perform live in Casey and beyond.
All of this will lead to a huge showcase event at Bunjil Place in March 2026, where their tracks and stories will be shared with the world. Until then, the creative journey is just getting started – more great music is on the way!
