GRID Series South East Melbourne: New music and short films
What happens when emerging South East Melbourne artists are given time, mentorship and space to create?
Over the past six months, artists from the GRID Series South East Melbourne have worked closely with some of Australia’s most respected producers and mentors, including Alice Ivy, Joelistics, UNO Stereo and Sensible J.
The program culminated in the release of fully produced tracks and short artist films by Jordz, Kiid Koda, M4RTHA and ACP, launched at a showcase event in the Bunjil Place Plaza on Saturday 14 March. We are pleased to share the films here.
Delivered as part of the City of Casey’s commitment to making arts and creativity accessible, inclusive and central to community life, the GRID Series supports emerging voices and new stories. Four young artists were selected from a highly competitive pool of 47 applicants, each bringing their own sound, perspective and lived experience to the spotlight.
Watch the films below, explore the artists’ tracks and follow them on social media to stay connected with upcoming releases and live performances.
Kiid Koda
An artist from South East Melbourne, Kiid Koda reflects on the power of the mind, community and creativity, and how these forces shape his music and identity.
M4RTHA
In an honest reflection, M4RTHA journeys through her inner world, exploring the obstacles she has faced on the path to self‑belief and creative confidence.
ACP
Drawing on experiences of illness, recovery and community‑led music making, ACP searches for the deeper “why” behind his creative practice and connection to sound.
Jordz
DJ, producer and vocalist Jordz shares her experience as an artist with autism and ADHD, exploring the power of silence and the importance of sensory accessibility within music and creative spaces.
The films will also screen daily on the Bunjil Place Outdoor Screen.
GRID Series South East Melbourne was delivered in partnership with the City of Casey, Creative Australia, the Victorian Music Development Office, Royal Botanic Gardens Cranbourne and Bunjil Place.
