Arj Barker: We Need To Talk
'Hey, you got a hour? Look, I've been doing a ton of thinking about... us and where we're headed. This isn't easy but I need to be 100% honest with you, even if what I say makes you laugh, very, very hard.
You had better sit down for this....'

Heather will share the process she used to create her story for Double Delicious, and participants will then have the opportunity to think about their own personal stories inspired by a favourite dish.

Recently Deleted: Writing and Spoken Word Event
Come connect IRL after a gruelling 2021 to share in a reflective space:
- What did you write in your notes app late at night?
- What have you always wanted to get off your chest?
- What do you talk about in those 3.00 am chats with friends?
Focusing on reflection and language, this cyclical experience provides an opportunity to write your reflections, present them (or have an Agitator present them) over spoken word, to finally shred the paper and transform it into new paper: to start afresh. Celebrating cycles and the power of words.
Holiday Island
Holiday Island is a unique experience crafted specifically for the Bunjil Place Plaza. Like a silent film, the stage action is captured via a live camera feed onto the large screen. Using colourful props and a humorous twist the performers show their imagination on screen whilst simultaneously interacting live with the audience.
Plus don't miss the Holiday Island Clowning Workshop on Tuesday 12 and Thursday 14 April
Facing Death Creatively Workshop
The workshop involves making a miniature vessel (urn) out of a soft, biodegradable, sculpting medium. The material is non-toxic and very easy to manipulate so all skill levels and levels of dexterity can participate. The vessel becomes a portrait of the maker and a catalyst for discussing the participant’s final resting place.

Connecting Worlds with Words
In a disconnected world, spoken word has the power to reach out, touch hearts and give purpose.
The physical and social distancing of the last two years has meant that our deeply human need to continue to connect meaningfully with others has forced us online – and made us innovate.
Connecting Worlds with Words is a new grassroots-led spoken word event and collaboration between three major urban public spaces: Fed Square in Melbourne, Bunjil Place in Casey and Herald Theatre in Auckland.
