This program is a selection of short non-fiction videos by 3rd-year Screen studies students at Monash University. Selected from projects created during 2021 in a course titled ‘Screen Project: From Film theory to Media Production’ these videos respond to existing film cultures to inspire new contemporary video works.
Shot during the COVID-19 Pandemic this selection includes subjects range from Vegemite Scrolls to Longboard Skateboarding to the experiences of international study during COVID. They engage us with styles that include observational documentary, special-interest journalism, personal essays, and city symphonies. Taken together, they represent an energetic, intellectual and highly affecting window onto a world seen through the eyes of Melbourne’s next generation of media makers.
