Our Outdoor Screen in the Plaza presents a unique, specialised program that celebrates artists, filmmakers, animators, sporting heroes and our community. Hosting a wide variety of amazing screen-based activations from cinema-style events, film festivals, interactive installations, multi-player gaming challenges, sporting championships, not to mention short films, animations and documentaries from local and international filmmakers.

ART AFTER DARK 2025
As the evenings become cooler, Bunjil Place will bring warmth, movement and light with the Art After Dark program. From April to August, for 2 hours each evening, the Bunjil Place Outdoor Screen will exhibit video art works by established artists.

Abstract Showcase, MIAF
ART AFTER DARK program continues through cooler month on the Bunjil Place Outdoor Screen. Our next exhibition is a selection of Abstract animations from filmmakers across the globe. Curated by founder of the Melbourne International Animation Festival, the program explores a myriad of techniques that perfectly encapsulate the essence of animation itself.

GRID Series: 2024 Showcase
Established in 2013, GRID Series is a national artist development programs which has created pathways for 65 artists to break into and achieve success in the Australian music industry, accessing the support they need to take their careers to the next level.

Imagined Scenes from the life and dreams of a flower
A series of audiovisual poems, vignettes of music and moving image related to flowers and their environment.

Eternal
An exploration of the delicate and cyclical nature of life, a celebration of our human experience through the lens of flowers.

Sky of Flowers
Sky of Flowers is an Augmented Reality experience on the Bunjil Place Outdoor Screen in which flowers drift all around you, floating from one field to another.

As the temperature begins to cool, we launch into the 2025 ART AFTER DARK program on the Bunjil Place Outdoor Screen. Beginning the program is Angela Tiatia’s moving image work Hibiscus Rosa Sinensis, aligning with the Floribunda exhibition taking place in the Bunjil Place Gallery.
