Wednesday Workshop: Collage with Minna Gilligan

First we'll plow through old books and magazines, looking for images that jump out or speak to you in some way. These images will then begin to form ideas for your visual theme. We'll then combine them with paint colours and texture to create a background, mood or setting. O' what a night!

Minna Gilligan works primarily with painting, drawing and collage. Her practice speaks of fleeting, personal encounters with the past and present, and manifests in a tumultuous reconciliation of both. Her works are playgrounds of colour, often inhabited by lone protagonists trapped in states of longing, sadness or exhalation.
