To celebrate Kerala Piravi, the state’s formation day, traditional artists bring Kerala's rich artistic heritage to the stage with powerful cultural showcases. 

Traditional artists illuminate the stage with dynamic showcases that honor Kerala’s deep-rooted cultural legacy. The grand event brings communities together through high-energy performances that bridge global and local artistic talent. 

A major highlight of the celebration is a captivating performance by acclaimed singer Sithara Krishnakumar and her folk-rock band, Project Malabaricus. Blending traditional soundscapes with contemporary indie arrangements, Project Malabaricus breathes new life into regional folklore, vocal storytelling, and classical fusion. Sithara’s soulful renditions and dynamic stage presence evoke the spirit of Kerala’s heritage while celebrating themes of human resilience, nature, and shared identity. 

Adding to the international flavour of the festivities, experienced diaspora artists from Melbourne present a series of elaborate cultural showcases. Local Australian-Malayali performers take the stage to deliver graceful classical dance recitals, vibrant folk dance routines, and thunderous traditional percussion ensembles. Their dedicated performances highlight how time-honored artistic traditions flourish across borders.

Together, these musical and dance offerings create a rich tapestry of sound and movement, uniting audiences far and wide in a memorable tribute to Kerala’s timeless heritage.
