What is it to be an artist in the South East? New Ground is a new commission program inviting early-mid career creatives in Casey, Cardinia and Dandenong to respond to this provocation. Commissioned artists will receive financial support and work closely with the Bunjil Place Arts team with the opportunity to present at Bunjil Place in October 2022.

This important initiative seeks to provide a platform for artists to draw from lived experience, explore the challenges and benefits of being an artist in the South East and to network and connect with a vibrant local arts community.

We welcome creatives to use this opportunity to expand an arts-based practice and explore new ways of working while creating high-quality outcomes and experiences.

Commissioned artists will receive financial support and work closely with the Bunjil Place Arts team with the opportunity to present at Bunjil Place in October 2022.

Commission tiers range from $4,000 to $14,000. Proposals from artists, curators, performers and collectives working in any creative background are welcome.

Applications close at 5.00pm on Monday 6 June.
